We love Artists at Multiverse, and there are multiple ways for Artists to get involved: apply to display original works in the Multiverse Art Show, sell your art at a table in the Dealers Room, or apply to be a Guest and participate as a programming panelist. PLEASE NOTE: We do not allow the sale of AI/ML-generated images in the Multiverse Art Show. This space exists for the display and sale of art created by human artists. We DO allow approved artists to display and sell original art created with the aid of digital programs (e.g., ProCreate, Illustrator).

MULTIVERSE ART SHOW

The Multiverse Art Show is a juried exhibition showcasing some of the best genre-related Artists and artwork anywhere. We believe that great art is an essential part of fandom, and we believe Artists should be celebrated for their contributions in a fun exhibition environment that fosters connection with genre fans.

Here is some basic information on the Multiverse Art Show:

  • Display Space: There will be hanging panels, as well as table space for 3D pieces, sculptures, and pieces that do not hang very well. Floor space may also be made available by special request. Display space is assigned by the Multiverse Team after review of submitted applications. Art does not have to be for sale to be displayed, but it is encouraged.

  • Panel Fees: The fee for selected Artists to display and sell in the Multiverse Art Show is $10 per 4-foot-by-4-foot hanging panel. The same fee applies to a horizontal display space (table or floor) for displaying 3D art. If you are selected to display your work in the Art Show, we will email you instructions for purchasing up to 3 panels. Filling out the application does not obligate you to pay or participate, nor does application guarantee your spot.

  • Commission: Multiverse will collect a 10% commission fee on all art sold in the Auction and the Print Shop. A portion of this money will be donated to the annual charity beneficiary for the year in which the sales take place.

  • Auction Format: The Art Show silent auction runs from the opening of the Art Show on the Friday of the convention to closing of the Show on Saturday Evening. Bidding closes when the Art Show closes at 7:00pm on Saturday night, with the highest bid on each piece at closing time winning. Artists will set a starting bid for each piece, and bids lower than the starting bid will be considered invalid.

  • Quick Sale: Multiverse members may buy pieces at the Quick Sale price. This is a “Buy-It-Now” option that shortcuts the bidding process and sells the item immediately at the pre-set price point.

  • Sunday Sale: Any pieces that are not sold prior to Sunday can optionally be available for Sunday sale at a fixed (typically reduced) price, at the Artist’s discretion.

  • Print Sales: Artists displaying their original work in the Art Show will have the option to sell prints in the Art Show space.

  • Awards: The Multiverse Art Show will give two awards to outstanding pieces of art featured in the show. The BEST IN SHOW award will be selected by a group of qualified industry professionals. The PEOPLE’S CHOICE award will be selected by Multiverse attendees via voting cards.

  • Sales Logistics and Artist Payout: Sales of original art and prints will be managed by Multiverse staff. Multiverse will collect and pay sales tax on all art sales. Credit card processing fees (typically around 3%) will be deducted from the Artist’s final payout. Final payments will be made to artists within 30 days of the closing of the show.

  • How to Apply: Click the button above (when the application is active) and fill out the application. Space in the Multiverse Art Show is limited, so unfortunately we cannot approve everyone who applies each year. If you are not selected, we encourage you to apply again in the future!

DEALERS ROOM TABLES
